Stupid Procrastination

Yes, I am alive!

Anytime I try to update my blog, I get overwhelmed with just how behind I am. Thankfully I have taken a lot of pictures the past few months, so I can visually see what we've done the past few months.
I wish I could go into more detail, but then it would take way too long!
Also, some of these events may not be in order (for some reason my camera has decided to change the dates on the pictures, like to the year 1980, so excuse me if I didn't put these in order.

While Tammy, James and the boys were still in town we got together with family!
This cute boy was blessed!
Tanner was baptized!
We painted out kitchen and decorated it with the theme, "When Life gives you lemons, make lemonade!"
My friend Nicole came up to Utah for a week and we had a blast together!

Erik was baptized! We have known him since sophomore year of high school and after 8 years he was finally ready for the gospel. Very exciting!
We had the First McCorristin Family Reunion up at Bear Lake!
We didn't take a big group picture together, so this is the best I could do.

My brother Serge and his family came up to Utah!
Tate turned 12 and we all gathered together for it. The same day the boys all wen to help out with the flooding that happened in Saratoga Springs. We live in a great community!
We had multiple bridal showers! One for Nancy, Ria and Bethany! And they are all married now!

My friends Zach and Kelsey had their little girl Adelyn!
Myself, Max and Zach all made the Professional Comedy Sportz Team here in Provo! Woot woot!
We finally took family pictures with the McCorristin Family!
Ryan and I went down to California last month and we have a ton of pictures from that as well. I know I'm forgetting a lot of things, but at least here's a little update. I'm sure I've had a few nieces and nephews since my last update...lets see. I have two new nephews and one new niece since July. If I have forgotten any important events that have occurred, I'm sorry.

Oh and Ryan and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary on July 25 :) That's pretty important, LOVE YOU RYAN!

As far as this summer goes, it was a pretty rough one. My sister is doing amazingly well and we have grown a lot closer the past few months. In general, my family has grown a lot closer too and I love it. I've been working on myself a lot these past few months. Not physically yet, but I'm starting from the inside out and I'm feeling great! I feel like my testimony has been strengthened a lot the past few months and I'm so grateful for all the family and friends that I have in my life. I love my three nephews that I was able to spend so much time with this summer and I feel like they're my boys in a lot of ways.

I had a great birthday with family and friends and am excited for the Holidays coming up! Now lets hope I can keep up on this a little better now.

It comes in Three's...

I've always heard the saying that bad things come in three's and I think for my side of the family, we have made our quota of the three things.

Back in 2010 Ryan and I experienced our first "come's in three's"...Everything comes in Three's

The first was of course my sister attempting suicide almost 3 months ago and us as a family deciding that we needed to get her some hardcore help, so since then she has been down in California getting amazing treatment to help her out. Seriously, I couldn't have imagined how much better she is doing! The program and the therapy that she has been doing has really changed her life and all of ours for the better and I am excited that she will be coming back in a week or so! She is amazing and I am sooooooooooo proud of the progress that she and her husband have made in the past few months. So since that happened, the first month while she was gone, I had been in charge of helping her with her three boys, Chandler, Tate and Lincoln. Which was and has been a lot of fun. A few days before memorial day, my other sister drove her and her two little boys here from Tennesse and has been helping with the boys as well and it has been awesome having them around! So that was the first.

The second was finding out that my brother-in-law had bladder cancer. A lot of people have asked how he found out and a few weeks before, he had painful urination and bleeding so he went to the doctors, long story short, they found a tumor and did a biopsy and it was cancer. So this Tuesday he had his surgery to have it removed and the surgery went very well! They said that when they removed it, it hadn't yet infected the bladder so they were able to remove the tumor and he should be fine! Of course, he will be having regular check ups for the rest of his life, but we are so blessed to have found it early and have it taken care of quickly. Ryan took off that day and was able to spend it with him and the boys and help Rob with "boy stuff" before and after his surgery.
Rob, as he's waking up from surgery.
The boys at the hospital to be there with their Dad!
The third happened on Wednesday, the day after Rob's surgery. One of my nieces was run over by a van. We received picture's a texts saying that she was at the hospital receiving a CT scan of her legs and pelvis to see if she had broken any bones. Miraculously, she had no broken bones!! Now, she was fully run over by one wheel of the car over her legs and hip, but thankfully she is doing amazingly well. That night, we went to visit them and we were so happy to know that she was ok. We feel so blessed that she is still walking around and grateful that it didn't run over her chest or head because it would probably be a different story. So it was definitely a miracle and we are soooo happy about that!

Love family!
Since all of these things have happened, our family has grown a lot closer. We have gotten together way more and talk to each other a lot more too. Sometimes you have to have a huge event (or 3) to help you realize what's important. I love my family so much and can't imagine life without any of them.

To end this crazy week, my friend Becca and I threw a Bridal Shower for our friend Nancy! She's getting married next week and we are so excited for her! We had cheese and chocolate fondue and I think everyone really enjoyed it! It was a lot of fun. We laughed a lot, played games and enjoyed all the fun gifts that she was given.

Last night was a lot of fun! It's always nice to laugh and be around friends when life gets rough sometimes.
This past week I finally decorated my kitchen! The theme that I was wanting was "Lemonade" or base it off of the quote, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" Well we finished it and I am loving it. Plus that quote is pretty much what I need to remember during all these crazy times.

Might as well get it over with.

I obviously haven't blogged in over a month, Wow, I am ashamed. It's not even that I haven't had stuff to talk about, I've actually had too many things to talk about and haven't found the time to put everything down, and now that it's a month later, sadly I won't remember everything that has happened in the past month. Well, since the last post I will try to do little summaries of the things I remember.

-Memorial Day was awesome! We went boating with George and Heather and their family. It was so much fun, it was pretty chilly at first, around 60 degrees, then it probably cooled down to 70, by the end of the day. Here are only a few of the 100+ pictures that were taken. After we went to Utah Lake we met up with Brig and Michelle and the kids and went to see "The Lorax" at the dollar movie.

Ryan's brother Andrew came home from his mission and Ryan and some of his family were able to greet him at the airport.

Elder McCorristin

We had the first McCorristin Family Reunion up in Bear Lake, I added the 400+ photos to facebook, but I'll just add a few on the blog. It was a ton of fun and can't wait for more reunions to come!

We left the reunion early on Sunday to be able to spend some time with my side of the family because my brother Serge and his family were in town for a few days. Here's a few pics from the first night, I still haven't gotten the rest of the pictures from my brother's camera or Tam's camera because I forgot mine the second day, so I took pictures with other people's cameras :)

PILLOW FIGHTS!!!

Tate was the ultimate winner for the kids

We played Risk after and Ryan and I called it a tie because we were the last one's on the board.
Siblings, minus Jen

-Andrea had a baby shower!

Max FINALLY proposed to Bethany!!

We went to the Lehi Rodeo with a bunch of our friends and family! It was my first time going and it was a ton of fun! It was way hot, but a ton of fun!

The 4th of July was a lot of fun too! I didn't take any pictures but we spent it starting out at going to Rob's for Breakfast at 8am, we had marshmallow rolls, eggs and bacon. Then we went to Seven Peaks in the morning, with Ryan and I, Tam and her boys, Rob and her boys, and Brig and Shell and the kids. It was packed but still a ton of fun!! Afterwards we came back to our place and had pulled pork sandwiches and picnic stuff with Brig making homemade chocolate chip peanut butter ice cream. We had some fun relaxing, watching wipeout and Cool Pools and then Rob and the boys and Brig and the family left and we Bar-B-Q'd Hamburgers and Hot Dogs and red-boxed Man on a Ledge. The night was pretty chill and we didn't even go see fireworks, but I think we were all pretty pooped from the long day!

In regards to all the family things going on. Jennie is doing amazing down in California and has gotten amazing help! Rob and the boys and Tam and her boys will be driving down to Cali on July 12 to spend time down there for a week or so before Jen comes back! It has been great spending so much time with family and I'm glad that all of these things have brought us closer together. My brother-in-law Rob (Jennie's Husband) just found out that he has bladder cancer. (Yeah, when it rains, it pours) But they seemed to have found it early and he will have the tumor removed on Tuesday and then spend a few days recovering before the trip down to Cali. For any of you that read this, if you can keep them all in your prayers I would appreciate it. We feel blessed for all that we have and it's crazy to think that you may think it's hard one day, but it can definitely get worse. I'm so grateful for my amazing family. Ryan will be taking the day off on Tuesday to be able to take Rob to his surgery and everything. Hopefully they will be able to remove everything and he won't have to have further treatments.

In regards to Ryan and I, we are doing great! Our 3 year anniversary is coming up at the end of the month and I can't imagine my life without him! Work is going great for both of us!

I've only been working 25 hours a week, but I'm loving it! My new department is a lot less stressful too! Actually, it's kind of crazy, but when I went part time I moved to Medical Records in my Case Management department (basically I send ALL medical records for my department, there are only 4 of us on the team) So because I moved to part time, I couldn't do my old job because it is a full-time job and requires you being there full time to do all that you need to. Anyway, they trained someone to take over my case load (my case load consists of about 700 clients all from NY, RI, VT, and GA. which I think I'm the only case load that has that many states, which makes it pretty difficult) anyways...so they trained someone to take over my case load so I would be able to move to Medical Records, well I had to train this girl on some specific job things and well, she only lasted a week and then quit. Yeah that sucks. So work had to spend even more time training another person, then when they were ready I trained the new guy. That guy only lasted 2 DAYS! then he quit. Wow. Pretty crazy huh? I feel horrible for my work that they keep losing people, but it kind of makes me feel good for doing that case load for over 8 months, and actually, before I took over that case load, there had been 3 different case managers over it within 4 months...Needless to say, the case load needs to be reduced otherwise people will keep quiting, so today they did split my old case load by reducing RI from it, so hopefully this next guy will acutally STAY! I will be training him and helping him with it tomorrow, I really hope he stays haha.

Work is awesome for Ryan too! He recently had a promotion in March and became OSS, which is basically someone that helps train and coach those who have to be on phones. Then recently they wanted to split his department and make them specifically into either Trainers or Coaches, anyways, Ryan interviewed for being a trainer because he really enjoys doing that, and he got the job! It has so many perks! Not only will he not have to work a holiday (because training classes won't ever happen on holidays) but his hours changed and we actually see each other again! Lately he has either been starting at 7am or 8am and then getting off by 4 or so!!! YaY! It's awesome! I'm very grateful for that because with all that's going on, I don't know what I would do with not seeing Ryan either.

Well, I think that's mainly it. The next few blog updates will all be able Bridal Showers and Weddings because 3 of my close friends are all getting married before October! Let the marriages begin!!!
