California fun

So a few people kept asking why I was down in California, so here's the answer. My sister-in-law Sara won the Young Mother of the Year award for California, so she was flown out to New York to participate in the Nationwide Award and Conference for Young Mothers and Mothers. So Serge, my brother, asked if I could help him out with the boys while she was away. So I did!

I had a lot of fun while I was down there. I was able to spend a lot of time with Serge, which was really nice because he is always busy so it was fun spending time with him and the boys.

Plus I was able to get to know my nephews a little more. Hayden is a very smart kid. He's only 4 and he's reading amazingly well. As we read the scriptures each night he was able to read all by himself, including the big words like, "iniquities" and "wilderness" and tons of other hard words that I still don't know how to read, ok, well I can now, but not when I was 4! Anyways, he was a lot of fun when he wasn't talking back to me or Serge ;)

And I was a little worried about how Landon was going to react with me around all the time and not his Mom, but he did a lot better than I thought. Towards the end of the week, I was able to get him to laugh and play with me and not wimper at all. And that's a big deal! Landon is such a cutie. He says a few words and is really doing a good job for all of his physical and mental disabilities. I think my favorite thing that he does is "Quack" when you ask him, "What sound does a Duckie make?" Here's a little clip that I was able to get on video.

He's such a sweet boy.

I was going to add all of the pictures from my California trip to the blog, but it takes forever to upload on this thing, so I added them to my facebook. So if you really want to see all the pictures, then take a look at my page (Suzie's) if not, then here are a few!

Serge and Hayden washing the van.

Landon smiling :)

More smiles!

We went swimming at my friends house.

Hayden shooting his Bow and Arrow.

More shooting at trees at the park. Don't worry, his arrows didn't stick into trees. They were sticks with erasers at the end to make a point.

  1. It's Robin Hood! I knew that someone in our family had to be an outlaw!
