Caprisuns and Fruit Snacks

Friday night= Softball Game!

Here's the team warming up before the game.

They're ready to play some ball!

Or are they?

The game started off awesome! Ricky was the first batter and he got a home run!! It was awesome!

But...sadly it was the only run of the game. The weather was way windy the whole game and for the last 5 minutes of the game it started pouring!

Josh was great during the whole game and is such a cute boy!

This is the best picture I could get of Ryan way out in Right Center Field.

As you can see, this is how the weather really looked during the game.

Ryan hit every time that he was up to bat.

Here's Ryan hitting the ball.

As the "Team Mom" I get to watch these cute kids while the others play!

You can't tell by the picture, but at this point, it was full on pouring rain.

They might have lost the game, but they did get these!

As the "Team Mom" I provided the team with CapriSuns and Fruit Snacks! The team was happy to get the treats but they said that they didn't deserve it, which...um...wasn't true? But the most important thing is that they had fun, and I'm pretty sure most of them did!

On a roll

On Wednesday night, Ryan and I headed over to Sarah (Ryan's sister) and Chance's house to play some games. We were planning on playing Settlers of Catan, but we forgot to bring it, so the default game was...

Monopoly! (We did not play with the one pictured above, we still had the paper money, not the Credit Cards)

I hadn't played Monopoly since I was maybe 11? But it was a lot of fun. It took FOREVER, but it was a lot of fun and I actually won. Well, technically, there wasn't a "winner" because we ended the game early, but the only one's left in the game were Ryan and I and I was kickin his trash, so I technically won.
Along with playing Monopoly, Ryan made his first attempt at making Homemade Ice Cream. It turned out great! He made Mint Oreo Ice Cream.

This is what it looks like in the stores----and this is what Ryan's looked like.
It might not have looked like it does in stores, but it was really tasty! Good job Ryan!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thursday Night, we went over to Jeremy (Ryan's brother) and Kara's place for some games too!

We waited til this cute guy went to bed, and then started playing this game...

If you've played Settler's of Catan, Cities and Knight's of Catan is a lot more complex. It was a long game, but I think Jeremy got pretty into it. It was a close game, but in the end, I took the win.

Jeremy and Kara had also made some really yummy homemade ice cream that night. I know, we were way spoiled to get homemade ice cream two nights in a row. They made Homemade Cookie's and Cream Ice Cream. Way good!

We had a lot of fun with having two back to back nights with family and playing games. I'm glad that we live so close to family so that we can spend time together.

Crazy Monkey

I was looking for some documents on the computer today and I stumbled across these. They were found in a folder called "Crazy Monkey", and I agree.

Ryan made them April 20, 2009. Enjoy!

I love this guy!

Ghetto no more!

This...
...was my old phone. It was an LG EnV2 and the front hadn't worked for over a year and a half, therefore it was ghetto because it didn't work. Every time I needed to make a call or answer the phone, I had to open it up, dial the number, wait a few seconds for it to connect, then close it. Yes, I'm probably being a snob about it, but after a year and a half of a phone that kind of worked, I'm excited for a new phone that works!

This...
is my new phone! The LG Cosmos. It was kind of hard to find a phone that wasn't touch screen (I personally just don't care for touch screen) but I found this one and I'm loving it! I was overdue an upgrade, so it was completely free! I love when that happens.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other than getting a new phone, we had a Ward BarBQ on Saturday evening. It was a typical Ward Party, filled with Jello salads and tons of children everywhere :)
My brother-in-law Rob, was involved in a "Chubby Bunny" contest to see who could fit the most Marshmallows in their mouths in 1 minute. Rob won with 11 marshmallows! Good job Rob on having the biggest mouth! ;)

Again, I keep forgetting to bring my camera to things, so this picture is from my phone. Here's Rob stuffing Marshmallows into his mouth.

Other than the Marshmallow contest, they had a pie eating contest with the members of the bishopric against the Relief Society Presidency. Surprisingly, one of the ladies won!

Speaking of Marshmallows, here's a random picture that I thought was funny.

Poor Marshmallow :(

Where My Pitches At?

Our friends wanted to start a co-ed softball team, so they did! Ryan and I weren't able to be at the first game (It was during our family reunion) but we were able to be at the second game of the "season" which was last night and they did better than they did last time! Yay!

Sadly, their first game, they lost 0-18...pretty bad score. But this game went a little better and it was a loss of 4-13. At least they're getting better and it wasn't a shut-out! And Ryan did awesome! I didn't know my hubby was so skilled with softball. He had some great hits, made a run and did some other stuff that I don't know what the name of them are, but he was great! I'm the official babysitter for the team, so I was sitting with the children and cheering the team on.

Ryan in his team shirt.

The name of the team. It's pretty funny. But I realized how bad it sounds when you scream the team name really loud. Most people probably don't know that I said "Pitches" instead of the other word...I'm just not going to yell the team name anymore when I cheer for the team.

What's a Library?

(Disclaimer: Ryan and I are Not having marital issues, I just want to better myself by reading more and this happened to be a book that I found at the Library)

Just before we moved from Draper, my sister gave me the idea that I should get a Library card for the Draper/SLC Libraries. I still have my Draper address on my license, so I was able to get the library card for free, oh and it doesn't expire til 2018 which is pretty cool! The main reason for getting the card was so my nephews could check-out books for school reports or anything else, but I realized that I could check out books too!

So, on Friday, my nephews, sister and I went to the Draper Library (By the way, did you guys know that Libraries have gotten so technologically advanced now? They have self check out, and you put the books on the counter and it can tell what book/books they are. It's amazing! This obviously shows that I haven't been in a library since I was like 8 years old, pretty sad) anyways, I looked around for a book or two to read.

I'm not a reader at all, I actually used to hate reading, but if a book catches my interest, I'll read it. So I had been looking for about 30 mins or so and wasn't seeing anything that caught my eye. So right before we were about to leave, my sister went and started grabbing books and she grabbed the one pictured above called,

"Love That Lasts" by Gary and Joy Lundberg
"Fourteen secrets to a more joyful, passionate, and fulfilling marriage"

When I saw the names, it hit me that I had heard this couple speak when I was in the Eagle Mountain Singles Ward in 2008. Back in the day when I was good at writing down talks, conferences and meetings that I liked, I wrote down pretty much everything they said and I still have the notebook that I wrote in.

"Be More Diligent and Concerned at Home"
Eagle Mountain Stake Relief Society Enrichment Meeting
February 23, 2008
Gary and Joy Lundberg
(I'm surprised how detailed I was in my notes)

I won't write down the details of what I wrote from the Enrichment Meeting, but I recommend this book. I haven't finished it yet, actually I'm not even half way through it, but they have some great tips on marriage. Your marriage doesn't have to be having problems to need to read this book, but I personally think that if I learn as much as I can now about marriage and tips and tools that can help in situations that might arise in the future, I'll be better prepared for if or when things do come up. And if you want your spouse to read it with you, it could be a good FHE night to read a few pages or a chapter. Ryan and I have read a few of the pages together and it's been nice reading together every once in a while instead of watching TV.

"For All Eternity" by Dr. John L. Lund

Also, here is a CD set that Ryan and I listened to while we were dating that has been a great help in our marriage. I think most of my siblings listened to these CD's before they were married or once they were married and also love them. It talks a lot about communication and is awesome! The CD's are entertaining and easy to listen to, even funny at times. We still have the CD's if anyone would like to borrow them and again, your marriage doesn't have to have issues to listen to the CD's, but it definitely wouldn't hurt your marriage if you do listen to them!

Well that's my rant on helpful marriage books and CD's. Hopefully I didn't bore too many people.

Family and Friends

Yesterday was Tammy/Sawyer's Baby Shower. We had some good food and played a few baby shower games. It was a lot of fun! I forgot my camera, but I did take one picture with my cell phone of one of the balloon bouquets.

Balloons from the shower.

Tammy, Jeremy and Sawyer (So you know who the Baby Shower was for)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the baby shower, I went to our monthly Cooking Night! The theme was "Pizza" so we did different types of pizzas. We had a lot of fun hanging out and seeing all the new babies!

Here's little Josh with his Aunt Maria!

And here's cute little Annabelle!

Here are the "Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers"
They were pretty much Calzone's but we then cut them up and had some tasty salami, pepperoni and two cheese appetizers. It was good! It kind of looks like the one on the left is sticking a tongue out.

Here is the "Chicken Enchilada Pizza" It had a lot of good flavors and was also way tasty!

For dessert, we made "Fruit Pizza's" They were delicious! Instead of pizza dough you use cookie dough. My friend Bethany designed this pizza and it turned out way cute!

I designed this pizza with smiling starfish, a fish blowing bubbles and an octopus. They were way easy to make and really tasty!

We just got back from my Family Reunion up at Bear Lake and we had a blast!! There were over 55 of us there this time, we were missing about 20 or so that weren't able to attend. We missed all of the family that weren't able to be there, but hopefully they will be able to attend the next reunion in 2 years!
